How our Trash & Treasure spiced botanical rum is made

We take a humble weed, the dandelion. Once mature, we harvest, dry and roast the root to create a uniquely British spice.

We extract the flavour from our botanicals using white Jamaican rum in two ways. Firstly, our roasted dandelion root is distilled with over-ripe brown bananas, orange peel waste, farm-grown lemon verbena and spices including smoky black cardamom, cinnamon and sichuan peppercorn.

Post distillation we add in more roasted dandelion root, orange peel waste, grapefruit peel with sarsaparilla & cassia bark. This not only builds flavour, it also gives the liquid its vibrant golden colour without adding artificial colouring.

What does Trash & Treasure taste like?

Trash smells great (nose):

Fresh orange and grapefruit erupt from the glass, with aromas of sponge pudding, caramel and honey

Weeds taste amazing (palate):

A soft and creamy sweetness with a delicious combination of dandelion & sichuan spice, vanilla and cinnamon

In the end its all compost (finish):

A super tasty finish with a toasted earthiness, hints of vanilla, banana, and orange
